Tonight AEW DynamiteMoxley opened the show by defeating Guevara in the semi-final match, sending him to AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. Coming to the end of the show, Danielson reclaimed his victory over Jericho, who had defeated him weeks ago at Aew all out, to advance to the finals. Danielson’s win did not come without cost, as he appears to have injured his ankle mid-match. Then Jericho turned his crime of targeting Danielson’s foot, stating that it was an injury to the story. Moxley and Danielson will battle a civil war at Blackpool Fight Club at Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 21 to determine the next AEW Champion.
This will be the last match between Moxley and Danielson, who have a history in the ring going back nearly a decade. The two have battled on numerous occasions in WWE, including Moxley’s first main roster match. in WWE TLC In 2012, Moxley, then known as Dean Ambrose, teamed up with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to face Danielson, then known as Daniel Bryan, who joined forces with Kane and Ryback. Recently, Moxley and Danielson fought each other in AEW Revolution in March. Moxley took the win by two strikes, resulting in the two men squabbling after the match. That was when William Regal made his unexpected debut, uniting two of his former comrades with the name Blackpool Fight Club.
Coincidentally, this isn’t the first time Moxley has reached the vacant World Series Finals. in WWE Survivor Series In 2015, Ambrose (Moxley) fought Reigns for the WWE Championship, which Rollins abandoned after sustaining a leg injury.
